Copernicus Smith, everyone's favorite starship repairman, scoundrel and deep-cover spy, has stumbled upon a conspiracy of galactic proportions. It has also gotten him beat up, near death and a captive of the secretive Ryness Cartel. And they will continue to torture him until he reveals what he knows. The problem: He knows nothing. For the past 20 years, humanity - along with its ultimate weapon, the superhuman warriors known as REVs - has been at war with the more powerful and technologically advanced Antaere race. As latecomers to the galactic community, the humans have been playing catch-up, proving that their innate skill at waging war can help skip a lot of steps on the way to galactic domination. The Union of Affiliated Systems (Earth's new stellar empire) is determined to expand far beyond the Grid, using the REVs as the means of convincing reluctant species to join. After all, its for their own good. Membership in the UAS will benefit all. So what if a little blood has to be spilled in the meantime? Zac didn't want command of the REV force in the first place, and now he's put in an impossible situation.

An attitude? Why not? After all, what would you do if you were abducted by aliens and transported into a strange new universe away from your home, your family - everything familiar to you? Would it make you happy? Not likely! Now imagine you're stronger, faster, and more coordinated than every alien species you encounter. Would you start kicking some ass? With the human military now reduced to a shadow of its former self, the REV super-warriors must pull triple duty.

Having placed a bounty on the heads of the alien Klin and Kracori races, humanity must now face the desperate wrath of mankind's worst enemies, who have once again joined forces for a preemptive strike against the Earth. Everything is going great in the Milky Way Galaxy. Adam's immortal mutant alien daughter Lila is running the Expansion, and the Orion-Cygnus Union is experiencing its first period of peace and tranquility since its founding. Zac Murphy and Angus Price are the two most famous and formidable REVs in the Corps. Supermen in nearly every way, they are legends, both among the growing REV population, as well as the billions of normal Humans on Earth. And now they will be called upon to quell the festering tensions between normal Humans and the REVs. But then a new threat appears on the horizon, a threat that requires the REV—once again—to become the sharp end of the spear.

As the story of the REVs continue, the forces at work - either to destroy these enhanced super-warriors or to promote them - come together in a fight for the destiny of human evolution. And while the powers-that-be are tearing themselves apart with this internal struggle, mankind also faces the continuing threat of the alien Antaere...plus something new from outside the Grid. Just when the Humans thought they had the war won, this new threat appears on the scene and messes up everything. 

Having returned from the Andromeda Galaxy as heroes, the team soon learns that the remaining Nuoreans in the Milky Way aren't too thrilled with the fact that the Humans destroyed their homeworld of Nuor. Now they're going to make Adam and his friends pay for it. After placing an exorbitant bounty on the heads of each team member, nearly every creature in the galaxy becomes a hired killer. Although Adam's never been one to run from a fight, this may be too much for even him.

Adam and his crew are faced with the ultimate challenge: to save the Milky Way Galaxy from the Nuorean invaders. This time their backup will be two-and-a-half MILLION light-years away. They knew this could be a one-way trip, but the stakes were too high not to try. Someone had to step up and be the hero, and Adam's eclectic mix of humans and aliens have been there before. Yet even in victory, they could lose, trapped in a far, distant galaxy with no way to get home. But first things first, Adam Cain and the gang have to cut off the Nuoreans' link to the Milky Way before it's too late.
