Just before he dies, the drug addict tells Carver that he left the briefcase just over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. He left it with a woman named Sally.

Amos Carver is just minding his own business when a woman falls to her death right around the corner from where he's working. At first it seems like a senseless tragedy. An accident. Carver isn't a detective, but he has ways of getting information and tracking down people. His methods may not be legal, but they do the job just fine. He's also willing to serve as judge, jury, and executioner upon request.

A necromancer wants to turn Tokyo into a necropolis. That necromancer should be dead. Cain and Hannah had killed her long ago. Or so they thought. But there's a fresh infestation of necrotons, reanimated corpses, haunting Tokyo's streets.

Thanks to new friends, Justin and gang are able to return to Eden. But the Overworld lies in ruins. A top secret nom organization is slowly dismantling the supernatural world, hunting down supers and taking over Obsidian Arch waystations. A new dictator rules what's left and won't relinquish power, even if it means dooming the Overworld. Together with Conrad Edison and gang, Justin will have to find a way to fight off the noms and restore order.

Hannah returns to Cthulhu in a week, and there's nothing Cain can do to stop it. Though he still has Soultaker, Hannah won't let him trade it for her freedom.
