If Elohim has his way, all life will be extinguished, paving the way for him to recreate things just the way he wants it. Justin and gang have only one option to save the realms. A primal seed of creation, a crystalis, might provide enough power for their resident demigoddess, Emily, to stop the collapse.

Thanks to new friends, Justin and gang are able to return to Eden. But the Overworld lies in ruins. A top secret nom organization is slowly dismantling the supernatural world, hunting down supers and taking over Obsidian Arch waystations. A new dictator rules what's left and won't relinquish power, even if it means dooming the Overworld. Together with Conrad Edison and gang, Justin will have to find a way to fight off the noms and restore order.

Breaking a bargain with a god is impossible, or so they say. Which means Hannah is Cthulhu's forever. But she still hasn't learned to use her powers at will and old Tentacle Face isn't happy about it. His minions drop Hannah at Cain's doorstep with orders — make her useful in a month, or she dies. Cain isn't sure what's worse — damning her to an eternity serving Cthulhu, or letting her die. No matter what he does, he'll lose her.

Hannah returns to Cthulhu in a week, and there's nothing Cain can do to stop it. Though he still has Soultaker, Hannah won't let him trade it for her freedom. The sword can summon an army of the dead, and Cthulhu wouldn't hesitate to use it. It turns out Soultaker wasn't the only thing from the armory to survive. A mysterious cube was stolen by the mechanists.

Several ministers already seem in favor, and with a little push, the entire council could belong to Victus.

Enter the void. Baal has assembled nearly all the major relics of Juranthemon. Once the final pieces are in place, the realms will collapse, killing billions and erasing countless others from existence. Even the afterlife may be wiped into oblivion. Only two or three relics remain, and the sword of Jura, Unmaker, is in the worst place imaginable - the Void. Amos Carver is out camping when he's forced to kill two men. To be fair, they shot at him first. But they missed and Carver didn't. It turns out these men were tracking down a drug addict who stole something valuable from them. A briefcase full of money and drugs. Just before he dies, the drug addict tells Carver that he left the briefcase just over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. He left it with a woman named Sally.

When Carver finds out Liana Cardoso is missing, presumed dead, he'll stop at nothing to find out what happened to her, and he'll avenge her by any means necessary. Carver and Liana started out on opposite sides. She was NSA, he was trying to stop an assassin from hunting down Paola and killing her. After Carver saved Liana from Enigma, they laid low in the mountains of western North Carolina for a while and then the NSA welcomed Liana back in from the cold. But someone in the upper echelons of power sold a list of undercover agents to an information broker.

Carver goes to El Fuerte to visit his friend, Joe Donelly, only to find out he's dead. Joe bred prize-winning horses. One of those horses supposedly kicked him to death. Carver doesn't buy that for a minute. For one thing, Joe was a former Navy SEAL. He taught Carver everything he knew. He was a careful man. Skilled. Quick on his feet. A pro at handling horses. Carver quickly discovers there were plenty of reasons for someone to want Joe dead.

When Baal launches a surprise attack against Justin and gang on Emily’s wedding day, Justin overuses his Apocryphan powers and nearly kills himself. With his body clinging to life in a preservation spell, Justin is trapped in the afterlife. While there, he discovers that Baal’s plan to collapse the realms back into one world might not only kill billions, but also wipe out the souls of the dead. Turning to old friends and enemies, Justin pools any resources he can and attempts to fight his way back to the land of the living.
