The god killer has escaped from her chains on Prometheus' Rock. Aura from Dimension Beta killed Athena and unleashed eldritch horrors on Gaia Beta with the Apocalypse weapons stolen from Hephaestus' lost armory on Oblivion. She executed a plan that Cain never saw coming and even fooled the gods. The gods are too busy fighting minions of the Elder Things in the divine realm to care about an escaped elf, no matter how dangerous she is. Since no one else will track down Aura Beta, Cain decides to take on the task himself.

Anyone associated with Cain is fair game, and Aura and Layla are forced to hide out at Sanctuary with Cain. But not even his secret hideout is safe anymore.

With the relics of Juranthemon reassembled, the realms are collapsing in on themselves. When they hit ground zero, Earth will be recreated in a violent collision, destroying most life in the realms. If Elohim has his way, all life will be extinguished, paving the way for him to recreate things just the way he wants it. Justin and gang have only one option to save the realms. A primal seed of creation, a crystalis, might provide enough power for their resident demigoddess, Emily, to stop the collapse.

Gaia has an eldritch problem, and Cain is tasked with stopping it before it gets out of control. To do that, he'll have to make an uneasy alliance with a human black-ops organization called Aegis. Run by the US government, Aegis has the personnel and resources to stop an eldritch invasion in its tracks. The problem is, Aegis has been taking a short-term approach, blowing up eldritch wormholes as they form on Gaia rather than cutting them off at the source.

Medusa and Cabbage are missing, lost through a tear in the fabric of the multiverse. Cain goes to Sarpedon, the home of the gorgons, to discover a way to find them and bring them home. Before he can do anything, Hermes, the new king of the gods, sends his demigod children to trap Cain, Hannah, Fred, and Layla on Sarpedon so they'll be permanently out of the way. After realizing escape is impossible, Cain and the others go through the tear and end up in a distant dimension that seemingly branched from Gaia Prime eons ago.
