Summary

Having witnessed the terrible massacre of Imperial forces on Isstvan III, Death Guard Captain Garro seizes a ship and sets a course for Terra to warn the Emperor of Horus' treachery.

But when the fleeing Eisenstein is damaged by enemy fire, it becomes stranded in the warp - the realm of the Dark Powers. Can Garro and his men survive the depredations of Chaos and get his warning to the Emperor before Horus' plans reach fruition?

a great addition, fully takes the story and runs it in for the satisfying finale. However I felt it kept losing something with the addition of new characters meant the voices portrayed became silly in the attempt to differentiate. But that didn't stop me enjoying it as a whole. Next book please

Thrilling and strangely uplifting

An amazing read, an amazing listen. The soundtrack never tires as we listen to a story that embodies 40k. A good man struggles as the world goes to hell around him, never seemingly getting a break and even when his mission is complete do we realise it has just begun. Chaos, primarchs, lowly serfs and everything in-between are wound around a moral man. one of the best novels in 40k.

Garro starts one of the best 40k series
