In Ancient Code, a group of experts will harness a power so great that our ancestors were in awe of it. This power has been hidden and lost. Knowledge of it has been destroyed. Many have sought to rediscover it and wield it and many have fallen foul of their own selfishness. Like mad magicians seeking to rule the world, men of renown have fleetingly seen the incredible nature of this Ancient Code and all too often they have missed the point.

Toby has never harboured any desire to appear on stage, but has always been fascinated by the history of the Great War. He supports all the director’s plans and is delighted to be appointed as stage manager. However, he finds it difficult to focus on his responsibilities because of his fascination with Sarah, a visitor to the village who is helping him backstage. Sarah appears to like him, but the demands of the production mean that whenever they secure any time together events conspire to interrupt them.

Sir Edmund Hilary called it the greatest survival story of all time. In 1916, just months into Ernest Shackleton's third expedition to the South Pole, his ship, the Endurance, became trapped in pack ice and sank. Almost a century later, explorer and environmental scientist Tim Jarvis set out with a crew of five to replicate Shackleton's journey, using the same equipment, eating the same unpalatable food and facing the same hostile ocean conditions.
