Xander Moore is the senior pilot at the Rapid Defense Center, the clearinghouse for America's defensive drone force. With the ancient Aris service module Kanan out of the picture - at least for a while - there's a lot for Marshal Adam Cain to tend to within the Dead Zone. If Adam thought things were wild and woolly before, wait until he sees what happens in the aftermath of Kanan. Politics, terrorists, assassins, thieves, and more...I could go on and on, but you get the picture. And now, as Adam slowly builds a secret force of super agents within the ranks of Enforcers, they begin to take on assignments usually reserved for, well, supermen. Fortunately, the shoe fits.

To get it, they've kidnapped the super mutants, Panur and Lila. Little do they know, Panur is no longer immortal and he will surely die if Adam Cain and his friends can't find him and Adam's daughter, Lila, in time. 

Adam Cain is getting too old for this shit. Sure, he only looks to be around thirty, but this is his second lifetime, and he's getting a little tired of always having to kick alien ass. Besides that, he's got piles of energy credits, so he doesn't have to keep risking his life for the money. But then again, he is The Human for Hire, the best of the best, and everyone knows it.

The alien with an attitude is BACK! And he's not the only one. Kracion, the Mad Aris, is also back, and working with the allies to stop the Klin from destroying the universe. As the Klin build and deploy thousands of trans-dimensional starships, they refuse to accept the danger the space engines represent. Kracion has spent years repairing the damage to the space/time continuum caused by these drives, and now the Klin are literally tearing the fabric of space apart even worse than before. 

With an eye on profits, Starfire Security CEO Tidus figured his company's stock would go up if he had two Humans on the payroll. What he didn't count on was all the added collateral damage. After all, that's what Humans are known for, breaking stuff...lots of stuff. And who do you think draws the short straw to train the new Human bounty hunter? None other than the original Human for Hire, Adam Cain.
