Als Barkeeperin in einer Gilde bin ich einiges gewohnt – exzentrische Magier, überhebliche Hexen, sogar der ein oder andere Dämon bringt mich nicht aus der Ruhe. Aber sobald es um Familie geht, bin ich raus. Und das gilt auch für fremde Familien. Warum ich also zugestimmt habe, mit Aaron über die Feiertage zu seinen Eltern zu fahren – den berühmten Leitern der Sinclair Academy –, ist mir ein Rätsel. Kaum angekommen, wird klar: Etwas stimmt hier ganz und gar nicht. Schüler der Akademie werden angegriffen, aber niemand hat die Täter je gesehen.
