From Genesis to the Cross, the Bible tells one story: humanity running from God and God pursuing humanity anyway.

The first Adam hid because he was naked. The last Adam hung naked on a cross so we would never have to hide again.

In this episode, we compare the idols of Scripture with the ones we still chase today. While most of us aren't melting gold and building calves, we're often just as willing to give our attention, affection, and trust to things that were never meant to sit on the throne of our hearts.

We unpack why humans keep repeating the same mistakes throughout history, how to recognize modern idols in our own lives, and why a genuine relationship with God is the only thing capable of putting everything else in its proper place.

And because no meaningful theological discussion is complete without it, this episode also contains an audible fart (because we're children) and an extended Fat Bastard impression that probably lasted longer than it should have.

This week we stepped directly into the minefield of church tradition. From the Pharisees and the Corban loophole to indulgences, veneration, worship wars, legalism, and modern cultural Christianity, we talked about what happens when traditions slowly become more important than the Gospel itself.

But before Protestants get too comfortable throwing stones at Catholics, we also held up the mirror to ourselves. Because every church tradition, denomination, and Christian subculture has the same temptation: replacing real heart-level obedience with outward performance and comfortable routines.

Somewhere along the way, many churches became experts at defending preferences while forgetting the actual mission Jesus gave us.

So we re-centered the conversation where it belongs:
Jesus.
The Gospel.
Repentance.
Grace.
Communion with Christ.
And actually living out the faith instead of just inheriting it culturally.

Turns out the real enemy may not be tradition itself… but anything that quietly takes the throne Jesus was supposed to sit on.
