Sometimes a Halloween party…
Can be murder.

Search and Rescue Dog Trainer and amateur sleuth, Eve, attends a Halloween party with friends at a new indoor riding arena where she meets Alice’s new, mysterious boyfriend for the first time. All seems to be going well until another guest is murdered…and Alice’s boyfriend is found red-handed with the murder weapon.

He swears he’s innocent, and Alice believes him, but Eve is torn. A scrap of a Halloween costume is discovered, and Alice’s boyfriend claims that it belongs to the real killer.

Against her instincts and as a favor to Alice, Eve caves in to Alice’s pleas to use Willow’s tracking skills in an attempt to catch the murderer and exonerate her boyfriend, all the while wondering if the man Alice is seeing is sending them on a wild goose chase.

Can Willow sniff out the truth? Find out in this spooky little Canine Cozy Mystery!

This is the twentieth installment in the Search & Rescue Cozy Mysteries series. I always enjoy following Evelyn’s sleuthing adventures, and this story is no exception. It’s fast paced, engaging, and full of intrigue, with an interesting plot that keeps things moving. Julie McKay delivers an excellent narration, bringing this story to life.

Who knew that tragedy would strike even at a Halloween party? Everyone who is going, and dressed up are having a lot of fun. Until someone screams and a dead man is found in the kitchen. And the mystery begins. Eve is there, and was in the kitchen minutes before the murder. But will she be able to uncover who is the guilty person? Aiden's sister Alice is dating a new guy, and he is the first person seen by the body with a knife in his hand. Is he the guilty person? Eve sees a man with a facemask in the kitchen when she was there. Is he person who did it? Or did someone pop in, do the deed and leave. This is a fun one as the clues slowly unravel. Keeping my attention, I did not figure this one out. The perfect mystery.

Julie McKay continues to entertain me with her fabulous voice. She brings the suspense and wonder to the story as I tried to figure out just who did this one. She is spot on, easy to listen to and picks the perfect sound for each character. Loved her narration.

It can't be Halloween without a murder!
