About this listen

The discovery of a young woman’s body drifting down the Thames, her hair adorned with flowers and her legs wrapped in blue silk like a mermaid’s tail, presents Lord Jason Redmond and Inspector Daniel Haze with a puzzling new mystery. Who was she, why was she murdered, and what led the killer to leave her body displayed this way? Was it an act of love, meant to make the victim appear beautiful in death, or was there a more sinister reason?

As Redmond and Haze delve deeper into her life, they learn that the victim harbored shocking secrets and had crossed paths with a feared kingpin of London’s criminal underworld.

Will Redmond and Haze solve the murder before the killer strikes again?

I love this series but why the change of narrator?? It totally threw me when I began listening, although she tried there were so many times when the character's voices didn't change which broke the story at one point 2 men where talking and narration was included but the voice was never changed!
Another really good plot and story but PLEASE bring back the original narrator

why change narrator after 10 books???

Loved it. Listens to it right through in one day. Captivating story and very well read by narrator

Engrossed from start to finish

As usual the story line was gripping but the narrator let it down. Her voice isn’t pleasant to listen to and her American accent (Redmond) is poor.

Performance was a disappointment

The narrators tone was very flat, no animation.
Their tone did not conjure any imagery.

Lack of auditory imagery.

The story was as convoluted aa all the previous ones with the same flash of realisation as the culprit is identified but the change in narrator is awful. The previous narrator was by no means perfect, giving Jason a southern drawl when he'd fought for the North in the civil war, this one however, gave me a new appreciation for her. The sibilant whispery, voice is infuriating, not everyone is a fan of ASMR. It is not easy to tell many chatlracters from each other and the accents seem to stray randomly but the bizarre accent she uses for Jason is beyond awful. Occasionally it sounds like caricature New York, then strays to goodness knows where but not anything anything that could be mistaken for American.

Awful narration
