made me enjoy how each of the emperors children approached their devotion to slannesh and how they gave each one a very distinct and unique mental visual image

The book is really good at showing Lucius side of the Emperors children, and with all the cool side characters and guest appearances it is a good time worth every penny

almost weird it took this long for this book to get an audio book, but i am so happy that they got John Banks to read it, as a fan of the Bile trilogy banks is a personal favorite.

Although fairly short, the book sets up a cohort of interesting characters like the composer and Lucius and explores the treachery of being devoted to the youngest god.

Following multiple characters (but mostly Lucius) this book gives you the perspective of what it is like to not only be The Eternal one himself, but also what it is like to be a mortal slave underneath the 3rd legion
