As a child, Chris Hooper dreamed of monsters. But in deep space, he found only darkness and isolation. Then, on planet LV178, he and his fellow miners discovered a storm-scoured, sand-blasted hell - and trimonite, the hardest material known to man.
When a shuttle crashes into the mining ship Marion, the miners learn that there was more than trimonite deep in the caverns. There was evil, hibernating and waiting for suitable prey. Hoop and his associates uncover a nest of Xenomorphs, and hell takes on a new meaning. Quickly they discover that their only hope lies with the unlikeliest of saviors... .
... .Ellen Ripley, the last human survivor of the salvage ship Nostromo.

Rutger Hauer is internationally known for his portrayal of characters ranging from the menacing to the romantic. A Dutch actor, he rose to fame in the United States as Roy Batty, the surprisingly sympathetic antagonist in 1982’s Blade Runner. He went on to star in audience-adored hits such as Batman Begins, Sin City, Ladyhawke, and The Hitcher. On the small screen, he has lent his talents to shows including The Last Kingdom, Alias, Smallville, True Blood, and Wilfred, and won a Golden Globe for his work on the made-for-television film Escape from Sobibor. The voice of Matthew Lewis will be familiar to Harry Potter fans; his endearing portrayal of the lovably unlucky Neville Longbottom in the eight-film series won the hearts of audiences globally. Beyond the world of witchcraft and wizardry, Lewis boasts an impressive repertoire. He went on to star in lauded British television dramas, including The Syndicate, Ripper Street, and Girlfriends, as well as big screen hits such as Me Before You and Terminal. He has also been featured in several stage performances, ranging from Agatha Christie’s Verdict to the 2012 revival of the dark, incisive Our Boys. Her most notable performances include the portrayal of heiress Rhoda Swartz in the 2004 adaptation of Vanity Fair and her turn as the brash Taylor in the beloved British comedy St. Trinian’s. Her television work ranges from sci-fi favorite Doctor Who to tongue-in-cheek royal comedy The Windsors. A gripping sci-fi original guaranteed to make your skin crawl.
The sound effects used are from Alien Isolation, the same as used in the Audible Production of the original Alien 3 story, and are applied beautifully, inspiring me to play the game again!
I cannot believe I purchased this series of episodes ages ago and slept on this while it was in my
collection. This adaptation of part 1 of the 2014 trilogy is a must listen for sci fi fans and people who enjoyed Dirk Maggs with his work on The Sandman and other fully soundtracked, fully voice acted audio productions. I will always prefer radio dramas over narrated audiobooks because of how listening to them makes me feel fully immersed in an unfolding movie or story and this story does not disappoint as a thrilling instalment of the alien series, when a deep space mining crew suffers from a disastrous encounter and invasion by the Xenomorphs, but are unexpectedly joined by Ripley when her escape shuttle is directed to theirs, thanks to the schemes of the very much alive Ash as a disembodied and cunning AI program hellbent on following Weyland-Yutani’s directive- bring back alien life form, crew expendable.
Highly recommend, and equally overjoyed to have River of Pain and Sea of Sorrows as fully adapted audio productions in my collection. This reviews episode 10 but is meant for the previous nine episodes as a whole. Loved every moment of it.
Alien 1.5 - Highly enjoyable - a worthy addition to the Alien series
