When not writing, W.K. enjoys spending time with his children, pets, garden, and, of course, his wife. He is a scientist by training, even has a PhD in what is essentially biochemistry, but he's always been a jack of all trades, enjoying gardening, woodworking, sports, and most of all, a good story. He has always been a consumer of fantasy, sci-fi, comics (including manga & manhwa), video games, and more. And while he always wanted to write the fantasy stories that occupied the far corners of his mind, he was knee deep in grad school by the time he felt ready to write and publish these stories. Now, with those days thankfully in the past, W.K. has ~3 series planned as of 2025, with several books in each series. The first, The First Matter Saga, starts with his debut novel, Echoes of Destruction, an intriguing, multi-POV, genre-blending sci-fantasy that would be excellent for enjoyers of Cradle, Stormlight Archive, and Red Rising.
