Synova Cantrell is an award-winning true crime author, licensed Missouri private investigator, speaker, investigative researcher, and victims’ advocate known for her work on cold cases, missing persons cases, unsolved murders, and overlooked investigations. For nearly a decade, she has used investigative research, open-source intelligence, public records, case analysis, and storytelling to bring attention to victims and families searching for answers. Synova has written about more than 500 true crime cases and authored 15 published books, including one endorsed by a retired FBI agent. Her work focuses on cold case investigations, criminal justice issues, victim advocacy, organized crime history, unsolved mysteries, and cases where important details may have been missed, ignored, or misunderstood. Recognized as Southwest Missouri’s #1 true crime writer, Synova has appeared in multiple documentaries, including on the Discovery Channel, and has spoken at the Missouri State Capitol on behalf of victims’ families. Her cold case work has also been honored with a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol. After 10 years of researching real-life crime stories and cold cases as a writer, Synova became a licensed private investigator in the state of Missouri.
