S. E. Durrant is an award-winning children’s author published by Nosy Crow. Her novels have been published in ten countries and translated into eight languages; her next novel, ‘Into Thin Air’, is scheduled for release in August 2026. S E Durrant spent her childhood in Scotland before moving to Leicestershire when she was twelve. She studied Fine Art and travelled for several years, eventually settling in South London where she wrote her first novel ‘Little Bits of Sky’. Her work explores challenging real-life situations with a light touch and sensitivity, reflecting her intention as a writer: not only to tell compelling stories, but to foster empathy and understanding in children on the cusp of adolescence. She runs literacy workshops in schools, encouraging discussions around these themes. Her novels have been chosen as part of the Empathy Lab collection. She has twice won the Student vote UKLA Book Award, as well as the Warwickshire book award and the Beaufort book award. She has also received nominations for the CILIP Carnegie Medal and the Little Rebels Award.
