Richard is an award winning expert in communication, storytelling and influence. He overcame his crushing fear of public speaking through a quest to discover how we are born to communicate, becoming a highly paid speaker with a multi-million-pound business, with clients all over the world. His adventure began in 1995 when he lived with Tibetan monks in the foothills of the Himalayas, where he taught them English, despite them having no common language. Then he studied at a London acting school for three years, where he learned more about non-verbal communication, presence and storytelling. He put his skills into action in business by working with a Formula 1 racing team, delivering over 1000 talks in 5 years, to business leaders from around the world. His training company has since taught over 120,000 people across Europe, Asia, North America, the Middle East and Australia, giving them the confidence and skills to communicate their ideas. One client gained £1.2 billion in new business in just one year, winning 100% of the work they pitched for. Richard has been featured on BBC TV and Radio, in The Guardian, the Daily Telegraph, Forbes Magazine and he is regularly interviewed about communication and leadership. Richard won the most coveted award in speechwriting, the Cicero Grand Prize for Best Speechwriter, in a contest that involves hundreds of professionals from around the globe. In 2016 his scientific research on communication was published in the scientific research journal Psychology. This project involved over 2,000 people from around the world and proved that small changes in how you speak enable you to look more confident and inspiring, convincing 42% more people with your ideas.
