I have published a short fiction collection, Dodging the Bull (Wakefield Press), and two collections of poetry, Minorphysics (IP) and Awake Despite the Hour (Five Islands Press). My poems, stories and articles have appeared in numerous Australian and international journals, including The Age, The Sunday Age, Good Weekend, The Australian, The Canberra Times, Sleepers Almanacs, Best Australian Poems and Stories (Black Inc.), Meanjin, Overland, Quadrant, Antipodes, Southerly, Cordite, Antipodes, Griffith Review, Eureka Street, The Big Issue and crikey. I have performed my poetry and stories nationally and overseas, including The Bowery Poetry Club (New York), the Newstead Short Story Tattoo, Melboure International Arts Festival (‘Elemental’ a sold out poetry/film/music show at The Melbourne Planetarium), the Melbourne Writers Festival, the Newcastle Young Writers Festival, the Williamstown Literary Festival, La Mama Poetica, the Overload Poetry Festival, and Montsalvat Festival of Poetry and Song. I have also performed as feature poet at most of Melbourne’s major poetry and spoken word nights, and have written and performed three dramatic monologues at La Mama, Dancing Dog and Gasworks Theatres, and the Yarraville Festival I have for several years conducted short story and poetry workshops in schools and for writers groups, including at VWC, Methodist Ladies College (2010-12), St Bernard’s College, St Mary’s Primary School (Footscray), Williamstown Literary Festival, Star of the Sea College (Gardenvale), Wembley Primary School (Yarraville) and the Westcoast Writers Group (Geelong). I have taught creative writing for the past seven years at the University of Melbourne, Victoria University and RMIT. I have a MA Creative Arts (Creative Writing) from the University of Melbourne and am completing a PhD at Latrobe University, writing and studying short story cycles.
