Leon P. Jones is a retired Chief of Police with the Oklahoma State University Police Department and a 30-year law enforcement veteran. Rising through the ranks from patrol officer to Chief, he became the first African American to serve in that role at OSU. He holds Associate, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees in Criminal Justice from Oklahoma State University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (222nd Session). Throughout his career, Chief Jones led innovative campus-policing initiatives, managed state and federal public-safety grants, and built strong community partnerships. He served as the Northeast Representative for the Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police until his retirement. Leon is the author of his first published book, Following a Path I Couldn’t See, a reflective memoir on leadership, service, and purpose.
