Lateefah E Jackson was born and raised in Menlo Park, California, by her parents, along with two sisters. At the age of nineteen, she married a young preacher from Chicago, which marked the start of twenty six years of abuse. They had two sons and two sets of twin daughters. Over time, Lateefah began teaching the Gospel to a small group of women and eventually became the First lady of her church. In her later years, she received her minister's License through a Chicago-based church organization. Lateefah is presently re-married to a man in whom she calls her "Promise Land", experiencing love in ways that God ever intended for love to be between a man and a woman, submitting one to one another in the fear and love of God. She desires to awaken and or help other women to identify with her, to have marital restoration and or to make healthy choices for their future, to confirm or justify the emotions they endured (enduring), and ultimately to know there is hope for healing and a new beginning. Her desire is for women to see that they are not (we're not) crazy and that they are not alone in their journeys.
