Born and raised in Albuquerque, Kyle Burrell-Cowan (also known as Kyle T. Cowan) is an attorney (Colorado, inactive), actor, and writer based in Hamilton, New Zealand. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he focused on intellectual property, licensing, and contracts. During law school, he worked with the Rocky Mountain Veterans Advocacy Project, assisting veterans, particularly those affected by military sexual trauma during the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” era, in discharge upgrade proceedings. He also gained courtroom experience in Arapahoe County Court under the Student Practice Act and worked in corporate and intellectual property focused roles with Cocona Labs. As an actor, Cowan has appeared in productions including Manhattan, The Short History of the Long Road, Better Call Saul, and Preacher. For Undergrad he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Writing and Directing from the University of Colorado, Denver. As a screenwriter, he has earned 17 Coverfly accolades, with his pilot Don’t Say Gay! reaching the Top 1% on the platform. His independent feature Camouflage showcases his work across writing, directing, producing, editing, and acting. His debut novel, Sunshine is Forever, sold well, and its audiobook received an Earphones Award from AudioFile Magazine.
