Eva Abbo was born in Bogotá, Colombia. She completed her primary, secondary, and university studies there. After getting married, she moved to Maracaibo, Venezuela, in 1969, where she continued her academic education. In 1979, she settled in Florida with her family. She dedicated herself to language teaching, translation, and the real estate business. During this time, she began writing about remarkable events from the past, as recounted to her by people close to her. Her deep aversion to human conflict inspired her to write her first novel, No Más Lágrimas, in 1995. Thanks to its excellent reception, the book was translated into English and published as No More Tears in 2007. Her second novel, La Encrucijada del Ayer, was published in 2014. In 2015, it was translated into English and published as The Crossroads of Yesterday. In 2026, she published her third novel, Vidas Paralelas, which was translated into English as Parallel Lives.
