Don Handfield is an American author, filmmaker, and comic book publisher with over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry. He is the co-creator and Executive Producer of the History Channel series Knightfall, the producer of the critically acclaimed film The Founder starring Michael Keaton, and co-wrote the season finale of Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories reboot on Apple TV+, adapted from his comic series The Rift. As a filmmaker, Handfield co-founded production company The Combine with Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner. He wrote and directed the Saturn Award–winning film Touchback starring Kurt Russell, and executive produced Kill the Messenger starring Jeremy Renner. He was named one of Filmmaker Magazine's 25 New Faces of Independent Film and has written screenplays for Warner Brothers, DreamWorks, Paramount, and Lionsgate. Handfield is the founder and CEO of Amp Comics, an independent comic and manga publishing company. His comic series LoveStruck is in development for television with Ryan Reynolds' Maximum Effort, and his graphic novel Unikorn is being adapted into a feature film. His other work includes The Dark Age, Eternus (with Andy Serkis), and The Source. A dedicated educator, Handfield has taught screenwriting at UCLA, Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. He is a graduate of the WGA Showrunner Training Program and has mentored writers at every level, from students to working professionals. Don lives in Los Angeles with his two children.
