My name is Christine Mihalec, and I am a poet and writer drawn to themes of memory, loss, love, and renewal. I was born in Mount Vernon, New York, and began my career at the J. Walter Thompson advertising agency before moving to Connecticut, where I raised three children and returned to my lifelong love of writing. I graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York, where I studied with poets Galway Kinnell and Gerald Stern, and received the Academy of American Poets Award for my work, including “The White Animals” and “Visit.” Alongside my literary work, I founded Copy & Design Associates in Westport, Connecticut, providing communication and branding services for small to mid-sized businesses. I now live in Fairfield, Connecticut, where I continue to write poetry rooted in lived experience, nature, and the quiet moments that shape who we become.
