Aaron Chavez is an educator, school superintendent, chainsaw artist, and author with more than 25 years of experience leading schools and districts across Washington State and internationally. Throughout his career, he has been guided by a simple belief: every child has unique gifts waiting to be discovered, developed, and shared. In addition to his work in education, Aaron is an accomplished chainsaw carver whose sculptures can be found throughout the Pacific Northwest. His artwork, ranging from owls and bears to eagles and Bigfoot carvings, reflects his passion for creativity, craftsmanship, and storytelling. While serving as an educational leader in Guangzhou and Foshan, China, Aaron created the original Brin and Melly carving, a grizzly bear and owl whose unlikely friendship inspired his first children's book series. Named after his granddaughter Melody, Melly helps bring stories of friendship, kindness, courage, and adventure to life for young readers. Aaron currently serves as Superintendent, Principal, and Business Manager for Paterson School District in Washington. Whether leading schools, carving wood, or writing books, he believes the best stories help people discover their gifts, build meaningful relationships, and make a positive difference in the world.
