Water Signs Summary

“WATER SIGNS” is an action novel that takes Elayne and Frank, a young married couple, from the dusty farming fields of the Sacramento valley to the San Francisco Bay. They learn to sail in the bay then cruise on down to the Sea of Cortez on a sloop called Youngblood with Guy, the man who owns her. Storms rage and Elayne begins learning who she is and what she needs to survive, AND who she needs to toss overboard. It is her story. Tensions rise while trapped in close quarters sailing the Pacific Ocean into the foreign country of Mexico. After battling hurricane Ramon, Elayne realizes she must leave the boat to establish who she is in her own mind. She travels alone to Oregon where she seeks new direction, learning more as she whitewater rafts the wild and scenic Rogue River.
