Ovaj roman, koji je Kafka kao i vecinu svojih djela smatrao humoristickim, najcesce se danas priziva kad se govori o izgubljenosti covjeka u neobjasnjivim birokratskim labirintima suvremenog drustva.

On his 30th birthday, the chief cashier of a bank, Josef K., is unexpectedly arrested by two unidentified agents from an unspecified agency for an unspecified crime. The agents' boss later arrives and holds a mini-tribunal in the room of K.'s neighbor, Fräulein Bürstner. K. is not taken away, however, but left "free" and told to await instructions from the Committee of Affairs.

Franz Kafka nació en Praga el 3 de Julio de 1883, en el seno de una acomodada familia de comerciantes judíos de lengua alemana. A los 23 años se doctoró en derecho. Al año siguiente padeció los primeros síntomas de tuberculosis. A pesar de la enfermedad, de la hostilidad de su familia hacia su vocación literaria, de sus cinco tentativas matrimoniales frustradas y de su empleo de burócrata en una compañía de seguros, Franz Kafka se dedicó intensamente a la literatura. Su escritura se caracteriza por una síntesis entre el absurdo, la ironía y la lucidez.

"Die Verwandlung" ist eine im Jahr 1912 entstandene Erzählung von Franz Kafka. Die Geschichte handelt von Gregor Samsa, dessen plötzliche Verwandlung in ein Ungeziefer die Kommunikation seines sozialen Umfelds mit ihm immer mehr hemmt, bis er von seiner Familie für untragbar gehalten wird und schließlich zugrunde geht. Mit einem Umfang von rund 70 Druckseiten handelt es sich um die längste der von Kafka für abgeschlossen gehaltenen und zu seinen Lebzeiten veröffentlichten Erzählungen.

The Metamorphosis is one of the most commonly referenced books when you talk about absurd literature. It is heralded as a masterpiece of the existential literature genre because of how it demands the reader to accept the absurdity of the world just as it is. Although some of the events of the story are fantastical in nature, the ideas it conveys about existence, the meaning of life, and humanity are relatable to us in the real world, too.

A man arrives in a snow-covered village, summoned by authorities he cannot see and cannot reach. Above the town stands the Castle—distant, silent, and absolute. K., a land surveyor by profession, believes he has been hired. Yet no one confirms his position. Letters contradict each other. Officials remain unreachable. Messages pass through endless intermediaries. The system is vast, opaque, and impenetrable.

Así comienza un proceso laberíntico en el que se ve inmerso y lo lleva a tomar conciencia de sí mismo y reflexionar sobre su propia existencia, sobre la pérdida de la inocencia y la aparición de la muerte.

Ce matin-là, lorsque Gregor Samsa veut se lever pour aller travailler, quelque chose l'en empêche. C'est en réalité son propre corps qui s'est métamorphosé en insecte pendant la nuit. Désormais, il n'inspire que le dégoût, et n'a plus aucune autonomie. Personne ne croit à sa capacité à ressentir des émotions malgré son aspect monstrueux. La métamorphose s'opère également dans le comportement de ceux qu'il aime et qui ne veulent plus de lui, dans son rapport à l'espace, à lui-même et à l'existence.
