Shifter politics have never been Gray Hunter’s thing. Life at the Salty Cauldron is going well…right up until a body washes onto the beach. Seems he was the one hired by the victim’s husband to investigate her extra-curricular activities. Surprisingly enough, it turns out she wasn’t having an affair.

It’s vacation time for Harper Harlow and her boyfriend Jared Monroe. They have big plans to head to northern Lower Michigan for a wine tasting event – which happens to be close to a small town called Shadow Lake – and they’re even taking Zander and Shawn along for the ride. In Shadow Lake, Ivy Morgan finds herself in a good mood. It’s officially the start of morel season (her favorite holiday) and she knows exactly how she’s going to spend the next three weeks of her life, much to her fiancé Jack Harker’s chagrin. Everything changes when the two groups meet in the woods – the whimsy of morel hunting too much for Harper’s group to turn away from – and they happen to stumble across a body. It seems a local woman, a party enthusiast with a bad reputation, was shot down in the middle of the forest and it appears someone is out there hunting people rather than animals or mushrooms … making for a very dangerous morel season.

Now that she’s absorbed the power of the Casper Creek nexus, Hannah Hickok is a witch on a mission. Her new powers require regular venting, and she’s surpassed even her limited expectations. It’s not magic on her mind when her father comes for a visit, though. Brad Hickok has always wanted to see Casper Creek, and now that he gets to visit, he’s extremely excited. He’s not alone, though. He’s brought his new girlfriend...and Hannah is thrown for a loop by her appearance.

A day at a Tampa festival brings laughter and questions for Hali Waverly and Gray Hunter. Fun and games lead to a fortune teller, who warns them of incoming trouble. Hali laughs it off, but when they get home, they find the police have shut down the road in front of Paradise Lodge. There’s a body in the median, and Hali knows the victim. In fact, the dead witch is a member of her grandmother’s coven. But why was the victim so close to Hali’s home? Was she trying to warn her of something?

Maddie and Nick Winters are embarking on the biggest adventure of their lives: parenthood. They’re nervous, excited, and prepared to go shopping. That leads them to a special baby boutique in Whisper Cove, where they just happen to participate in a cemetery tour run by Michigan’s most famous ghost hunter. Maddie and the tour guide Harper Harlow recognize each other for what they are right off the bat, although they don’t initially say anything. Everything spills out in the open, though, when a ghost leads Maddie to the body of a local plastic surgeon.

Following her mother Olivia's death, someone has to take care of Maddie's cantankerous grandmother Maude, and the family tree is almost limbless now. It's not easy for Maddie to return to small-town life in Blackstone Bay, mostly because the boy she left behind is still there - and she's drawn to him the second she sees him again.

The big day has arrived. Hali Waverly is finally getting the surgery she so desperately needs. Her boyfriend Gray Hunter is determined to be by her side for it. She thinks she’s ready for it. Is she, though? The surgery itself goes off without a hitch. Hali’s recovery is another story. Ceding control of her beloved tiki bar to her brother and her boyfriend’s brother only amps up her anxiety. Things get worse when a storm hits, and it’s of the magical variety instead of the natural. When a body is found in the aftermath, things are bad.

An eerie howl draws Hannah and Cooper to Main Street during a snowstorm, and what they find confuses them. There’s some sort of monster stalking the downtown area, and a woman has appeared out of nowhere in the creature’s wake only to collapse in front of them. Before Hannah can call for help, the woman disappears, leaving a mystery and a monster hunt on the menu.

Life is going well for Hali Waverly. She owns her own tiki bar at one of St. Pete Beach’s premiere resorts, and her life is settled for the first time in...well, a really long time. On top of that, a local private investigator she keeps crossing paths with has decided it’s time to date, something that both thrills and terrifies her. All of that changes when a body turns up on one of the resort’s balconies and the owner of the resort is passed out inside with no recollection of what happened.

Rowan Gray has a new job, home, and potential boyfriend. Things should be going swimmingly, especially given the fact that she now calls a cruise ship home. All of that changes when a group of feisty women from a cosmetics company take over the Bounding Storm for a week of sun, fun and murder. For Quinn Davenport, things aren't at all what he expected. He didn't want a relationship and yet he can't seem to stay away from the Bounding Storm's new photographer.

St. Pete Beach is getting weird. Between warlocks, shark shifters, and wolf packs going to war, Hali Waverly and Gray Hunter have their hands full. Things get even worse when shifters with ties to Gray’s pack start attacking people on the beach. What’s even weirder is that when the duo step in during a frothing melee, the shifters drop dead before they can be questioned.

Life in Shadow Lake has been quiet for months. The most interesting thing Ivy Morgan-Harker has seen in that time is two women fighting over the same man. All of that changes when the man in question ends up dead in his girlfriend’s driveway. Just who did the deed, though? Ivy thinks this case is one that can be chalked up to human weakness right up until the dead man’s soul is eaten by a shadow and magic explodes in the northern Lower Michigan hamlet. It seems the town lothario’s death might be more than it appears.

Both couples find themselves involved in a dark mystery when the female half of another honeymooning couple goes missing. Between out-of-control, rollicking women causing trouble at every turn and a rather mysterious man who appears to be on vacation alone, there are multiple suspects to focus on. That includes the husband, who seems to be acting out of sorts.

When a young girl goes missing on the way to her bus, Maddie Graves-Winters goes searching and finds the sort of mystery she never wanted to uncover. The girl, crying and shaking and talking about a monster, is okay when Maddie finds her. What they discover with the girl isn’t, however. When Maddie and her husband Nick were in high school, three teenagers went missing. Everybody assumed they fled to Detroit for some fun and never came back, but it turns out, they never left Blackstone Bay.

The French Quarter is quiet for a change. Christmas is just around the corner, and the off-season is allowing for some rest and relaxation for the local business owners. Ofelia Archer is basking in it…until her mother’s walking group stumbles upon a body in Jackson Square.

Harper witnessed the accident and vows to solve the murder before it’s time to leave on her honeymoon.

During what should’ve been a romantic double date, a fire breaks out at a historic home. Harper Harlow and Jared Monroe race to the scene to make sure nobody is trapped or in danger...and discover one heck of a secret. It seems, the house, which was owned by a solitary older woman who kept to herself, was being run as a brothel. Now, she’s dead, and there’s a bevy of married men on the hot seat for her murder.

The Big Easy is about to be buried in big trouble. Again. For Ofelia Archer, that means she’s knee-deep in an investigation, even though she’s not quite sure how she got there. Zach Sully thinks he’s in for an easy night at Ofelia’s speakeasy. Maybe, a little flirting as a lead-up to a date included, when a scream in a neighboring abandoned building draws his attention.
