The end of the world arrived at the same time that a massive blizzard hit the city of Colorado Springs. During the storm, people began losing their minds. These people instantly became giddy killers who laughed while they murdered. Every fiendish assault on normal people was hilarious, every death a cause for hysterics. No one was safe from them. They hunted the young and old alike. They soon became known as the laughers. As Reggie and his band of survivors attempt to settle into the cabin in the woods where they hope to remain hidden, a new horror is brewing. This one is of the human variety.

While trying to escape this madman’s house, she discovers that not all is as it seems, and that maybe the worst part of her situation is yet to come. Yellow Dog Village, PA, once upon a time was a small mining town. This town was surrounded by thick woods the locals knew should be left alone. No one went into the woods, for fear of being trapped by the ancient evil there.

Laurie is a woman with a penchant for displaying impatience and judgment. She does not like to be bothered, particularly when she is in a hurry, which is a most unfortunate thing. One morning on her way to an important appointment, Laurie is confronted by a homeless woman who wants a small amount of money, and respect. Instead, of respect, Laurie tells the woman that she is a lost soul, feeding off the back of humanity. What Laurie doesn’t know is that this particular homeless woman is not simply an unfortunate, down on her luck member of society.

Peter Goode is home from vacation to rest and further develop his new relationship with the woman of his dreams. Upon arriving home, though, he discovers an old flame dead, lying on his bed. Peter knows he will never be able to explain her being in his home, and further, he knows an evil presence is behind her death.

Adam Hammond wants to return to a more normal existence, but the monsters who come to his door each night, appearing as the people he has loved and lost, have different ambitions. They beg and plead for Adam to open the door; to come outside. Appearing as his deceased wife and son, they cry for him to open his sanctuary to them, but Adam knows to do so would mean his death.
