Un drame de la petite bourgeoisie à l'origine du naturalisme.

Dès sa parution, en 1856, le premier grand roman de Zola excède la réalité, le réalisme et même le naturalisme dont précisément "Thérèse Raquin" ouvre les portes. Il se hausse au fantastique sans quitter le clinique et c'est précisément ce qui empoigne l'auditeur d'aujourd'hui devant ce très noir tableau des passions humaines.

Roman publié en 1867 par Émile Zola, Thérèse Raquin est une descente sombre et troublante dans les passions humaines. L’histoire suit Thérèse, mariée à son cousin Camille à la santé fragile, et étouffée par une existence monotone dans la boutique familiale. Sa vie bascule lorsqu’elle rencontre Laurent, un homme vigoureux avec qui elle entame une liaison amoureuse passionnée. Ensemble, ils complotent pour assassiner Camille et vivre leur amour librement.
