The House-Surgeon is a strange tale about a haunted house. Not that there is an actual ghost in evidence. Indeed, nobody has ever died in the house since it was originally built. But a strange all-pervading depression haunts the place intermittently which overwhelms its occupants. When the current owner of the house tells the strange tale of the house to a fellow passenger, Mr. Perseus, on a trans-Atlantic steamer, he invites him down to the house to experience the horrible phenomenon himself.

"The Jungle Book" (1894) is a collection of stories by English Nobel laureate Rudyard Kipling. The stories were first published in magazines in 1893-94. The original publications contain illustrations, some by Rudyard's father, John Lockwood Kipling. Kipling was born in India and spent the first six years of his childhood there. After about ten years in England, he went back to India and worked there for about six and a half years. These stories were written when Kipling lived in Vermont.

This fictional audiobook is about a boy named Mowgli, who is an abandoned human taken in and raised by wolves. There is a struggle among the animals as to whether to encourage the child to go back to his own civilization of humankind or to stay and live in the jungle.

Just So Stories is a collection of stories written by Rudyard Kipling in 1902. He developed them during one of his many journeys to Africa. He told children wonderful accounts of how the animal kingdom's eccentricities came about. The collection of stories came to be known for their wordplay and insistence of placing the wisdom of children at the heart of his stories.

Four short stories are included in this volume of Kipling works. They are: "Mowgli's Brothers" - Mowgli, a small boy, is found orphaned in the jungle by wolves and raised by them; "Kaa's Hunting" - Mowgli is kidnapped by the Bandar-log (monkeys) and rescued by Kaa, a python; "The White Seal" - The community of seals believe a great white seal will come, and deliver them from the wrath of the seal hunters; and "Rikki Tikki Tavi" - A young mongoose defends his human family against a pair of marauding cobras.
