Nito presents life at a San Antonio mission from the viewpoint of a young, native Indian child, new to the mission and its ways. Little Nito isn't quite sure what to think of the "witch" at the mission, but he surely doesn't want to get near her. Later, he finds that appearances aren't always what they seem to be.

Self-esteem and codependency are both very much interlinked. If you have codependent tendencies then the chances are there are underlying issues with self-esteem. The good news is that both can be worked on to break the cycles in order to develop more meaningful and rewarding relationships in your life. Just because these patterns have repeated themselves in the past doesn't mean that it has to be this way forever. But having clear understanding and strategies in place in which to improve on moving forward are absolutely vital.

Codependency is extremely hard to deal with and if you are codependent then attempting to have functional and happy relationships can be one of the biggest challenges of all. It certainly doesn't mean you can't, but understanding codependency on a deeper level and learning strategies in how to heal is key to having the relationships in your life that you both want and deserve.
