I’ve done it. My five virtues have finally accepted me, and it’s better than I could have ever imagined. Hendrik, Orion, Dante, Kaito, and Logan each fill a void inside of me that I hadn’t realized had been aching. One problem: Something is still missing, or someone. I sense another virtue coming my way, and the guys are not going to like this one. Cole is unlike any of my virtues. He’s a monster - just like me, abused, beaten, and downright vicious. “Are you feeling sorry for yourself again?” a male voice teased, filtering into the room as the Dark Mage walked right past my wards. “Go away, Hendrik,” I growled. Hendrik stepped out of the shadows as he peeled off his coat. “I could use another session,” he said, grinning as he gave the offer to spar a double-meaning. “Last time was a mistake,” I snapped as I went back to the vampire stake I was working on. I sliced my dagger over the tip, sending a tendril of wood falling to the ground. “We’re just being influenced by the demon.”

I've met rune #1, and he wasn't at all what I'd expected. It wasn't love at first sight. Maybe hate at first sight. Pretty sure he hates my guts. But that's okay, maybe rune #2 will bring him around. This end of the world stuff is just getting started, and I have a feeling one of my very own sins is the one stirring the pot. The Incubus King, what sin might he be? Lust...my favorite one.

I found my five virtues...but they didn’t want to be found. Talk about reluctant. My five virtues all need to be taught a lesson, even Kaito, my mentor who thinks he knows everything - FYI, he doesn’t. Hendrik, a dark mage who thinks he’s still pulling the strings. Logan, a wolf shifter who hasn’t caught on that I’m really his alpha. Dante, a brutal hunter who doesn’t realize he’s the one being hunted. Orion, a playboy demigod who hates that all he wants now is me - and no one else. He’ll be the hardest of all to break.

I'm not a very good witch. It's not my fault. Being born a mortal sucks, and my black cat familiar follows me around like a security blanket. All the other coven brats make fun of me. My vampires don't seem to mind. They pose as my mentors and get Aunt Sandra off my back. My initiation into the Royal Covens is only three days away. They're supposed to teach me how to hide what I really am: a reincarnation of some ancient and powerful witch.

I've found my third, and he's definitely the sin of anger. Jet has some damn rage problems, but I guess that's to be expected from a dragon shifter. Am I ready to play with fire? You bet your ass I am. Derek, one of my sins, is making good work on stirring the pot. He's trying to rip open a hole to hell and he's gotten Luke on a leash to do just that. Don't worry, I have a plan. I just hope it doesn't get everybody killed.

I made a deal with a demon and it didn’t end well. What else is new? But this is the right path. I know it. All that matters to me is getting all of my mates in one place. Including my newest addition: an incubus named Asher. I used the last of my power to imprison Lucifer. Had I held onto it without my mates to ground me, I would have died. My fourth is a freaking vampire? Xavier is cocky, overzealous, and way too hot for his own good. He’s just what I need to stop my nightmares from coming to fruition, except he's telling me that I'm not supposed to stop the future from happening. I'm supposed to fulfill a dark prophecy. One where I'm the Queen of Hell, turned into a vampire, and I save hell itself from being destroyed.

That's what Azra and Sam tell me and I don't think I'm ever going to get used to this. All of my Virtues have been reluctant and taken time to come around to their destiny. Not my angel twins. They're the only force keeping me from falling into a pit of depression after the majority of my Virtues were infected by Calamity. I can't see them. I can't feel them. Only Kaito remains and he's thrown himself into his research to undo this mess. It's my job to unlock the angelic powers inside of me before Lucifer comes back to claim my crown, one lesson at a time.

The worst has happened. Kaito says this can be fixed. But I don't know if I have any fight left in me anymore. For their sake, I better get my shit together. We've come this far, and my Virtues and I have been through life and death together. Nothing has changed. Nothing except Lucifer coming down on me with his fallen angel army. My Virtues who are still on earth are forced to bend to his control. And now the next Echo of Calamity is on its way, overlapping with a mission that I've yet to fulfill.
