Having spent 10 years making programmes for ITV, Matt Cain is the former culture editor of Channel 4 News and editor in chief of Attitude Magazine. He has recently published his third novel, The Madonna of Bolton. Matt Cain talks to us about his main protagonist, Charlie; getting approval from Madonna; and what he hopes listeners can take away from the book.

Lupton studied literature at Cambridge University, graduating in 1986. After graduating, she wrote for Literary Reviews and was invited to join the Royal Court Theatre. During this time, Lupton won a television play competition and earned herself a job as a screenwriter. While her husband, a doctor, was working all hours, Lupton decided that as an author she could write around her kids being at school. So, after much work, her first novel, Sister, was published. We chatted to Rosamund Lupton about her career as a writer and author and how she creates such thrilling reads.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Damian Barr, British writer, columnist and playwright, who released his novel, You Will Be Safe Here, in 2019. Barr was born in Scotland and attended Lancaster University. Barr's first article ran in The Guardian in 1996, and since then he has written for titles such as The Sunday Times and Big Issue. Barr's first book was published in 2006 and was the first book to focus on the quarter-life crisis in the UK, titled Get It Together: How to Survive Your Quarterlife Crisis.
