Walther von der Vogelweide (um 1170 - 1230) gilt als der bedeutendste deutschsprachige Lyriker des Mittelalters, der in mittelhochdeutscher Sprache dichtete. Er steht wie kein zweiter für den Minnesang. In 1892, Alfred Tennyson, the official Poet Laureate of Great Britain, died. According to custom, a new Laureate now had to be chosen by the Prime Minister.
