Yasmine Benabdallah is a filmmaker, visual artist, and writer, born and raised in Morocco. She studied film and mathematics at Columbia University in New York, before moving to Paris to attend the Experimental Programme in Political Arts at Sciences Po (SPEAP) and is now a PhD candidate in the states.
In her work, she explore stories around memory, performance, embodiment, diaspora, archives, rituals, and time travel.
This is a recording from a closed zoom talk which Yasmine gave as part of the Red Gold online residency in 2021. Some parts, where she shows films or works in progresses, have been removed for copyright purposes.
