Hi! Welcome (back) to We're Still Spinning, a headline news show co-hosted by America's Favorite PR team.

We are two longtime PR and Communications professionals with a combined 42+ years of experience who take you through YOUR newsfeed to dissect headlines, expose agendas, examine the crisis, read PR statements to filth and ultimately tell you what the actual tea is that you're consuming.

THINK: Media Literacy, but make it funny as hell and explained by two women who are overqualified to do so.

On the docket for this week!

    1. This is a real headline: "Former J.P. Morgan Broker Awarded $4 Million After Saying He Was Fired Over Expensing a Deli Platter." We do a quick hit on this news item. We've all experienced life-changing deli platters, but damn... this is some cold-cut cash.

    2. Petty-gonia! We examine the rocky terrain between Pattie Gonia the drag queen and Patagonia the clothing brand. Should Patagonia have filed their $1 lawsuit against the drag queen activist? Have they caused irreparable damage to their brand? Is Pattie justified, or is she weaponizing LGBTQ+ activism to fly above trademark law? In true We're Still Spinning fashion, we cut through the bias, take a media-literacy-forward approach, and break down what happened—and what went wrong—through our distinctive PR lens. Our POV will surprise you.

    3. Beauty, Influence & Borrowed Aesthetics: We unpack the controversy between Ngozi Esther Edeme of Painted by Esther and Patrick Ta of Patrick Ta Beauty. When inspiration, artistry, and branding collide, where is the line between influence and imitation? In an era where every idea is remixed, referenced, and repackaged, does anyone truly own anything anymore? We examine the dispute through a PR, creator-economy, and media-narrative lens, exploring what creators, brands, and audiences believe is "theft" versus what the law actually protects. As always, we are right.

    4. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Thomas Massie are vacationing together in Costa Rica (!) What happens when defunct MAGA catches vibes and taps out? We forecast the future of both the political and existential landscape as more and more people either voluntarily—or (mostly) involuntarily—find themselves disconnected from "the machine" and left with only their rawest self. We get a little more woo-woo than usual this week...

On the docket for this week!

    1. James Charles vs. the World - it wasn't until his latest PR blunder that we realized James Charles has a dedicated account for his apology videos. We take a look at his most recent mea culpa and pitch a PR plan for Sister James that we hope he hears. Spoiler alert: we (the co-hosts) do not agree on the best PR path forward for James. (And "disappearing" clearly is not a viable plan, alas...).

    2. Mixed reviews came in following the Roast of Kevin Hart. Some loved it. Some cite it as the death of roasts. Most people called it racist. We take a look at the comedians who were picks, the jokes that were made, the state of comedy in a world that seldom laughs and debate the future of comedy roasts (and the definition of "comedian"...).

    3. Glamour Magazine's entire editorial team was laid off. The magazine issued a statement about "going in another direction" - we forecast the future of Glamour Magazines (and all Conde brands in a Bezos takeover) and we pitch an idea to reinstate all of the journalist who were let go. Spoiler alert, our PR Plan for the laid off editorial team of Glamour Magazine involves...the cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2...

On the docket for this week!

    1. Amy Beck - mother of TikTok Star Noah Beck - is on paid (!) administrative leave from her job as a school teacher after a video of her perfauxming fellatio on her son resurfaces. Is there a PR plan to come back from implied incest?

    2. Spotify semi-announces a "pivot" into fitness and rolls out a partnership with Peloton. Why? And a few days later, Universal Music Group announces it is unloading its Spotify shares. How are these connected?

    3. Reese Witherspoon is on the receiving end of backlash for encouraging women to get educated on AI with her. Is the hate justified? Reese took to her IG Story to address the swirl, but we still want to take a look at the relationship between rich white women and AI.

On the docket for this week!

    1. Mountain Dew rebrands as American Dew for America's 250th - choices!

    2. Devil Wears Prada 2 releases - how deep does it go into the truth about the business of journalism in 2026?

    3. Spirit Airlines "unwinds" - we look at their PR statement, the larger implications of afforable travel and the movement led by Hunter Peterson to launch Spirit 2.0, "the people's airline"

    4. Spencer Pratt - is trending to become LA's next Mayor. We look at his campaign and why he is attracting donors like LA Laker's heiress, Jeanie Bus

    5. BONUS: We layout the future of Hollywood ("the business") - which is very much linked to the current War in Iran + the quiet sale of American soil in Idaho to the country of Qatar (so Qatar can build its own Airforce in Idaho) by the current administration, which SHOCKINGLY, was not a national news story. Reminder folks, it's what's NOT being covered by national news that is the real-ass story in 2026+

  • (PART ONE) PR PLAN: TREE PAINE, TRINA, MARY MAGDALENE, SABRINA @ COACHELLA (ft. MYAH HOLLIS)
    Apr 18 2026

(Recorded - 4/16/26) - Welcome back to We're Still Spinning, a headline news show hosted by America's Favorite PR team. In part one of this week's episode, we are joined by American Author, Myah Hollis, to discuss her Goddess divine, Tree Paine, which leads to an unexpected PR plan for rapper Trina. Myah shares a communications strategy for Mary Magdalene, based on an extensive study of her life. Turns out, Mary wasn't a promiscuous woman whatsoever; she was just mislabeled by men who wanted to strip her of power. Go figure! Then we examine Sabrina Carpenter's performance at Coachella, the yodel heard 'round the world, and the PR statement that followed. This episode also marks the introduction of our "unsafe space bell" - a percussion moment to mark topics we can't discuss, as we are still very much working PR professionals.

Make sure to check out PART TWO on our PATREON. We dedicate the entire episode to examining Justin Bieber's performance at Coachella. It costs less than whatever latte you bought today.

  • PR PLAN: BEYONCE TOUR, 60 MINUTES + BILL OWENS, NIKE, TYLA
    May 2 2025

(Recorded - 5/1/25) Welcome back to We're Still Spinning, your #1 entertainment news podcast hosted by America's Favorite PR team. First and foremost, we got official word that Tree Paine knows about our show. We are one step closer to our goal of getting her to join us as a guest. But until then...we attended the opening night of Beyonce's high-anticipated Cowboy Carter Tour in LA, and we talk about it, shedding new light on her brand and forecasting the next few years of her emerging daughter, Blue Ivy. Next, is journalism dead? Officially? Longtime Executive Producer of the Award-Winning news show '60 Minutes', Bill Owens, resigns after a nearly 50-year tenure, citing biased influence from the network. This is one of our show's famed Media Literacy Moments - and this affects you. Next, Nike issued an apology this week following backlash of its billboards at the London Marathon which were deemed to be antisemitic. We look at the brand's apology and discuss if it was even necessary. Lastly, Tyla recently got into her comment section to duke it out with fans over a Coachella outfit. A performer who felt like a fresh drink of Water is now leaving fans feeling...dehydrated. Where does Tyla go from here?

  • PR PLAN: BOSCH (WHITE LOTUS BLENDER BRAND), TRADER JOE'S MINI TOTE, TOPICALS + BREAD HAIR CARE, PRADA BUYS VERSACE ft. DARIAN SYMONÉ HARVIN
    Apr 12 2025

(Recorded - 4/10/25) - Welcome back to your favorite podcast hosted by America's Favorite PR Team. This week, we are joined by esteemed American journalist and creative visionary Darian Symoné Harvin of STUDIO SYMONÉ, to discuss the latest news headlines and dissect the PR agendas behind them. First, the German-based blender heard (hated?) around the world puts out a PR statement following its violent use in the hit HBO series White Lotus: Season 3. We swiftly move to news about the Trader Joe's Mini Pastel Tote Bag drop and the immediate resell market on eBay for upwards of $2,000. Next, we look at the Essence.com article about Topicals and its holding company acquiring Bread hair care and the interview with Olamide Olowe, President Sochi Mbadugha, and Bread Founder Maeva Heim. Lastly, Prada buys Versace for 1.4 billion USD, citing that "Made in Italy" is a movement. Is that prophecy or PR statement? We dig into all of it on this episode of We're Still Spinning. (And a reminder, please leave us 5 Stars if you are enjoying this show).
