  • Ep. 122 - The Wonder Days: Our Experience In Early Sobriety & What Kept Us Coming Back
    Jun 11 2026

Welcome back to this week's episode of Trudge Report. Thank you for supporting the show. We go around the horn. Corey rolls in fashionably late. Dan tells us how a local festival that was supposed to be family and community centric was taken over by teenagers where a handgun went off and local businesses were robbed and looted. We talk about how Ticketmaster and Live Nation continue to be public enemy number one for fans and concertgoers.

The recovery segment is all about each of our experiences in the first 30 days of sobriety. Mostly not including when any of us were in rehab, but when we all got to the rooms of recovery and started to hear the message. Each of us talk about those experiences and what those days were like. For all of us it was a very simple time. We discuss how certain moments and certain key people in those days were finally important and without them, we don't know where we would be. We each take a turn describing what “kept us coming back."

Sovereignty is the God given Providence to experience life and its gentle loving path laid before us. -Dr. Scott S.

  • Ep. 121 - Speedom of Freach: The Crutches of Addiction and Freedom from Bondage
    Jun 4 2026

Welcome back to this week's episode of Trudge Report. Thank you for supporting the show.

We kick things off going around the horn with some long-awaited sunshine for the Ohio boys. Danny celebrates his 42nd birthday, softball season, new jobs, grilling weather, and a few proud parenting moments as the guys share updates on family life. From there we take a detour into Dave Matthews Band weekend. Corey and Shawn recap the concert experience, rare songs, setlists, and the disappointment of missing a longtime favorite. This leads into a spirited discussion about the juncture where music and politics meet, and if this should even be the case. Do musicians have a right to use their platform on stage however they want for their political views or should they just play music and rock out? How much political rhetoric is too much or any at all?

We then shift into the recovery segment and pick up where last week's conversation left off. The guys take a deep dive into Vivitrol, Suboxone, maintenance medications, and the difference between staying alive and finding lasting freedom through a spiritual experience. We discuss whether recovery tools can become crutches, the role of personal responsibility, and what it actually means to address the underlying problem rather than simply removing the substance. At the end of the day helping people stay alive long enough to find a better way remains something we can all stand behind.

Without action, gratitude is just a pleasant emotion - anonymous

  • Ep. 120 - How We Deal With Relapse: Mormons, Vivitrol, Boneless Wings, & Rock Bottom
    May 28 2026

Hello and welcome back to another episode of Trudge Report. Thank you for your listenership and patronage of the show. We are recording this on Memorial Day so we first want to take a moment and honor those who have given their lives in service for our country. This week we have a lively around the Horn discussion surrounding Mormons, Brigham Young University, premarital sex, and retired college basketball players. Big shout out to Dan's wife, Alyssa, for graduating college. We also pause for another moment of silence for Cory's grandmother who passed away recently. 98 years old and a life well lived. And naturally Greg finishes this segment off with a quick rant about boneless chicken wings.

The recovery segment surrounds the topic of how we deal with people who have relapsed or who continue to constantly relapse. We discuss briefly how we think our loved ones and significant others should deal with us if we were in that place. We talked about the never give up mentality that recovery has for everyone, even if on a personal level, we have to discontinue talking with someone for a time and show some tough love. We then move into the discussion about how much of a physical bottom a person needs to truly hit before a genuine surrender. Lastly, we have a somewhat recurring discussion about suboxone maintenance, vivitrol, and other drinks, drugs, and medications that are supposed to help quell the craving and desire to drink alcohol lol and do drugs. This one we leave on a bit of a cliffhanger for a future episode.
