  • Ep. 115 - Is Religion Enough? Where Religion & Spirituality Diverge In Our Recovery
    Apr 23 2026

Hello and welcome to another episode of Trudge Report. Thank you for listening and supporting the show. We begin this week with some quick life updates. Greg's week took a turn for the not so good but he's keeping a positive attitude and looking at it as an opportunity rather than a negative. Dan continues to be baffled by the hot and cold weather swings in his neck of the woods and also taking his daughter and her softball team to go watch Ohio State v Penn State softball. Corey power washes his mom's driveway and admits that it is mediocre at best. Followed by some late night Taco Bell runs.

The recovery portion of the show this week surrounds the necessity or choice of whether we in recovery practice any type of religion or belong to religious bodies. We make it clear that religion or religious membership is not mandatory for happy and lasting sobriety. However, there is some overlap for many of us and there are many people in recovery that choose to take up membership in religious organizations. We discuss what we feel works and does not work in religion, keeping it plain in sight that we are not telling anyone how they must or must not believe. We discuss each of our childhood religious upbringings and where we are now with these beliefs and practices.

  • Ep. 114 - Don’t Be THAT Guy: Navigating Humility And Happiness In Sobriety
    Apr 16 2026

Hello and welcome to another episode of Trudge Report. We go around the horn starting with Greg who is turning into the red-headed John wick and also knee deep in 37 different colors of off-white paint swatches. Danny trying to get through the post NCAA March Madness lull before NBA playoffs start. Corey getting ragged on by the group for ordering a Caesar salad as his entree.

Danny brings the recovery topic idea for this episode. We talk about what our newfound sobriety is like to friends and family and people close around us when we go from being scumbags and active addicts to fully sober and filled with the spirit. How we have to tow the line and not let our newfound spirituality come off as egotistical or holier than thou. How it sometimes takes longer to truly repair the Damage done in the past and how our feet and our actions must exceed our mouths. We don't try and fix others now that we have found a different way of life, we lead by example, and try to be the change we want to see.

“Change is the essence of betterment.” -Emmet Fox-

  • Ep. 113 - The Great Resurrection: Life Takes On New Meaning & Helping Others At Their Lowest
    Apr 9 2026

Welcome back to this week's episode of Trudge Report. Thank you for supporting the show. First and foremost a very happy Easter to anyone who celebrates. We kick things off going around the horn with some talk about this very particular holiday, food comas, church services, and kids figuring out some things about the Easter Bunny. We touch quickly on the NCAA men's basketball tournament and Danny's UConn Huskies playing for a chance at the title game (note; by the time this comes out the championship has already been decided).

Corey then asks a great question about religion and faith. Making deeper connections and what these beliefs mean to us. It sparks a quick but in depth conversation and what it means to each of us. We then shift into the recovery segment which is a continuation of service to others, mentorship, and carrying this life-saving message into all of our activities. What it means to show up for people no matter the circumstances or personal sacrifice.

“The greatest jail break in all of history occurred on Easter morning. Therefore, we must remember that whatever our prisons might be and however impenetrable they might appear, your jail break is just a prayer away.” - Craig D. Lounsbrough
