Awful Announcing's Ken Fang jumped on with T.J. Rives to reminisce about the tremendous career of Sterling, who worked an astounding 5,200 Yankees games on radio in a row. Plus, he was on the mic with his partner Michael Kay for every big moment of the Yankees dyansty from 1996-2001, as they played in the World Series 5 times and won four of them.
The guys also go back to Sterling's rise doing minor league sports and games in New York in the 1970s that led him to famously doing the Atlanta Braves baseball and Atlanta Hawks basketballl on TBS cable in the 1980s and then, eventually, back to New York and the Yankees.
The guys also tell personal stories of interacting with Sterling and his legendary kindness to others in the business, young broadcasters, etc.
Hear us remember John Sterling on this special edition of the "LWOS Media Podcast!" and make sure to follow/subscribe on Apple/Spreaker/Spotify, etc.!
