  • Episode 230 - Communications Silence During a Crisis - with Keith Erwood
    Apr 13 2026

We all understand how important communication is during a crisis. But this week's guest says that during high profile building evacuations, there is a time when communications silence is the proper protocol. But that doesn't mean we don't communicate. Hello everyone and welcome to episode 230 of the Resilient Journey Podcast, presented by Anesis Consulting Group! This week we are joined by former NY City EMS, turned resilience professional Keith Erwood. Keith and Mark take a couple of minutes to circle back to our recent conversation about blast radius. Keith explains that to him, the term literally refers to damage caused by an explosion. And that leads Keith to the topic of communications silence during an evacuation. He says that silence doesn't mean we don't communicate during the crisis, it means that our phones can't be used to detonate a device. Keith says while this is counter-intuitive and encounters pushback, radio silence is essential. Be sure to follow The Resilient Journey! We sure do appreciate it! Check out the Resilient Journey Hub! • Episode 229 - Excellence, Purpose, Resilience and ... Coffee Beans? with Sean Vanslyke
    Apr 6 2026

This week's guest says that he knows what it's like to feel small. A traumatic event when he was six years old changed his mindset. And while he has forgiven, he hasn't forgotten and he uses it to drive towards helping people every day. Hello everyone and welcome to episode 229 of the Resilient Journey Podcast, presented by Anesis Consulting Group! This week we are deeply honored to be joined by Sean Vanslyke, a dad and grandpa, CEO and author the new book Change Me, Bless Them. Sean and Mark take stories from the book and explain how their principles apply to us as resilience and crisis management professionals. They talk about overcoming imposter syndrome and self-doubt. Sean describes his Friday Feature conversations with Joe Theismann, Tim Tebow and Olympic gold medalist Ryan Murphy. Stick around to listen to Sean's comparison to our resilience to the multiple strands of cable that hold up suspension bridges. It could very well change how you go about your day-to-day work.
