In this episode we talk to guitar supreme Smokey Hormel. First finding fame as a guitarist in the band the Blasters, he has gone on to have one of the most eclectic careers in the music industry working with artists including; Tom Waits, Adele, Norah Jones, Beck, and Joe Strummer just to name few. However, he is probably most well-known for his work on Johnny Cash's string of iconic Rick Rubin produced albums in the 90s, including the seminal single 'Hurt'. Smokey has been a part of Beck's band for 30 years and is featured on Beck's 2026 single 'Ride Lonesome'.

This week we talk to legendary singer and Manchester icon Rowetta. First finding fame during the 'Madchester' scene, she has gone on to work with many music icons from Peter Hook to Paul Weller. Notably, she provided the vocals to 1989's house music mainstay 'Reach Out' by Sweet Mercy which went on to be sampled by Black Eyed Peas on the track 'Boom Boom Pow'. Most recently, she provided vocals on the EP 'Put on a Record Tommy' by Tom A. Smith.

In this week's episode, we talk to the bassist and producer Dale Davis. Dale first found fame as part of Freak Power with Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim). After Freak Power, Dale went on successful tours with artists including Paul Young and Tina Turner. However, he is probably most well known as the musical director for Amy Winehouse. He is currently touring with the Amy Winehouse Band.
