  • Enda Stevens wins dramatic Dublin derby for Shamrock Rovers
    May 26 2026

Episode 33 - Enda Stevens wins dramatic Dublin derby for Shamrock Rovers

After a poor first half, which saw Bohs lead through Tierney, Rovers struggled to create clear-cut chances and looked vulnerable defensively at times. The episode discusses the tactical battle in the opening 45 minutes, Bohs’ pressing approach, Aaron Greene’s isolation up front, and the growing frustration around Rovers’ attacking play.

The podcast also breaks down what changed after half-time as Dylan Watts helped increase the tempo, Rovers began committing more bodies forward, and the momentum slowly shifted towards the visitors. The impact of the substitutes, the equaliser from McGovern, the derby chaos late on, and the scenes following Stevens’ dramatic winner are all discussed in detail.

There is also discussion around whether this result can become a turning point for Rovers following back-to-back defeats, while acknowledging that some concerns still remain despite the late victory.

Finally, attention turns to another huge Dublin derby as St Patrick’s Athletic travel to Tallaght Stadium on Friday night. The episode previews the game, discusses potential team selection decisions, and looks at whether Rovers can now build momentum after the dramatic win in Dalymount.

  • Shamrock Rovers suffer back-to-back defeats ahead of Bohs
    May 23 2026

Episode 32 - Shamrock Rovers suffer back-to-back defeats ahead of Bohs

Ryan Brennan looks back on a hugely frustrating night in Tallaght Stadium as Shamrock Rovers suffered a late 2-1 defeat against Sligo Rovers.

The Hoops took the lead through an early Aaron Greene effort, which eventually went down as an own goal, but despite long periods of control, Rovers once again struggled to turn possession into clear-cut chances. The episode discusses the performances of Michael Noonan and Adam Brennan, the recurring lack of cutting edge in the final third, defensive lapses, and the dramatic late winner that condemned Rovers to their first home league defeat of the season.

The podcast also gets into the growing debate surrounding the Republic of Ireland call-ups for Ed McGinty and Adam Brennan. With both players expected to miss upcoming Dublin derbies against Bohemians and St Patrick’s Athletic, questions are being asked about fixture scheduling, the impact on clubs, and the use of League of Ireland players at international level under Heimir Hallgrímsson.

Finally, attention turns to Monday night’s derby away to Bohs in Dalymount Park. The episode previews a massive game for Rovers as they look to respond to back-to-back defeats, while also discussing the possibility that this could be the final league meeting between the two clubs in the current version of Dalymount.

  • Disappointment in Dundalk
    May 18 2026

Episode 31 - Disappointment in Dundalk

A busy week to discuss on Episode 31 of The Milltown Way as Ryan Brennan flies solo for this week’s show.

First up, a look back at Shamrock Rovers’ frustrating 1-0 defeat away to Dundalk in Oriel Park. Despite periods of pressure and chances late on, the Hoops were left to reflect on another night where the end product just wasn’t there.

We also react to the news that Ed McGinty and Adam Brennan have been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for upcoming friendlies against Qatar and Canada, and what that could mean for upcoming league fixtures against Bohs and St Patrick's Athletic.

Finally, attention turns to next Friday’s meeting with Sligo Rovers in Tallaght Stadium, which will also see the club stage a special memorial event to honour supporters, players and club figures who have passed.

We also advise all listeners to watch our exclusive interview with Robert Goggins, now live on YouTube.
