About this listen
We are standing in a heavy week for the Last Frontier.
This past Tuesday, March 24th, marked the 37th anniversary of the night the earth tore open in Prince William Sound. And as we look at the calendar, we see a familiar shadow approaching: Good Friday.
On March 24, 1989, the Exxon Valdez supertanker struck Bligh Reef in Alaska’s Prince William Sound, spilling roughly 11 million gallons of crude oil. It remained the largest oil spill in U.S. history until the 2010 Deep water Horizon disaster.
In this episode I will touch on the events, the impact, and the lasting legacy of that tragic disaster.
