On this episode of The Frontline Innovation Podcast, I welcomed Kathleen Lucente, Founder of Red Fan Communications to the show. We talked about one of the most important questions facing executives, CMOs, and marketing teams right now:

🔹 How do companies show up with credibility in the age of AI?

Kathleen brought a powerful perspective on why brand authority, earned media, executive visibility, customer stories, internal alignment, and thought leadership mattered more than ever.

She discussed the importance of not treating PR as a last-minute press release function. Instead, it had to become a strategic engine for visibility, trust, market positioning, and growth.

    Key takeaways included:

▪️ Marketing teams have to help educate the C-suite and board on how AI was changing brand discovery.

▪️ Executives need to be visible, credible, and connected to the story they were telling.

▪️ Companies need advocates to be brand authorities that lead with trust, credibility, and empathy to share their value propositions to the outside world.

▪️ Customer testimonials and case studies have to stay fresh, specific, and tied to real business outcomes.

▪️ Employees have to understand and believe the company’s narrative before the market would.

This was a timely and practical conversation for leaders, founders, marketers, and product teams thinking about how to build trust, stand out, and make their innovation easier to discover.

    Jun 24 2026

Innovation in healthcare is not just about more technology.

It is about whether the technology, process, business model, and human experience actually work together to help people get the care they need.

In this episode of The Frontline Innovation Podcast, I sat down with Dr. Ronke Komolafe, founder and CEO of Advancing Integrated Health, for a powerful conversation on whole-person healthcare, patient portals, user experience, and what happens when innovation meets real-world friction.

    We talked about:

    1. How patient portals can create unnecessary friction for patients
    2. Why innovation is not always about technology
    3. The importance of listening to real users, not just internal teams
    4. How social, mental, and physical health are connected
    5. Why great products still fail when people do not adopt or use them
    6. The role of go-to-market strategy in getting solutions into the right hands
    7. Why problem solvers need passion, purpose, and the courage to keep asking “why”

One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation: A solution is not successful just because it exists.

It has to be accessible. It has to be usable. It has to earn trust. And it has to actually help fix the problem people are experiencing.

This episode is for healthcare leaders, founders, product teams, innovators, and anyone working to build solutions that move beyond ideas and create real-world value.

  • Episode 6 with William Reed
    Jun 19 2026

In this episode of The Frontline Innovation Podcast, William Reed explores the journey of the individual problem solver—someone who notices friction, frustration, or unmet needs in the world and chooses to do something about it. The episode frames innovation not as simply building something new, but as a deeper journey from problem to fix, where the real work begins with understanding the human reality behind the problem.

William emphasizes that problem solvers must resist the urge to jump straight to solutions. Instead, they need to observe the environment, understand how the problem shows up in real life, identify root causes versus symptoms, and recognize the systems, constraints, and dependencies surrounding the issue. Only then can they begin to reimagine a meaningful fix—whether that fix is a product, service, process, experience, mindset shift, or new approach.

The episode then introduces the idea of problem-solving identity: the different ways people naturally show up in the innovation journey. William outlines four identity types:

    The Problem Analyzer (PA)

Someone who goes deep into understanding the problem, identifying root causes, context, system factors, and the limitations of current approaches.

    The Solution Designer (SD)

Someone who turns understanding into possible fixes, balancing trade-offs, constraints, functionality, cost, and the realities of what people actually need.

    The Value Activator (VA)

Someone who helps bring the fix into the world by creating awareness, educating the market, helping people buy, adopt, use, and realize value from the solution.

    The System Alchemist (SA)

Someone who sees the bigger system around the problem and solution, recognizing complexity, constraints, dependencies, and what is realistically possible.

William explains that individuals, teams, and organizations may contain all four identities, but each person often has a dominant starting point. The power comes from understanding those strengths, identifying gaps, and making sure the full journey—from understanding the problem to delivering real-world value—is covered.

The episode closes with an invitation for listeners to take the Frontline Problem Solver Identity Profiler, a short 12-question assessment designed to help people better understand how they approach problems and how they can contribute to a broader community focused on addressing unmet human needs within their teams.
