  • Changes to England World Cup Squad plus 060s and 070s round up
    Jul 10 2026

More changes to the England O60s World Cup Squad - Steve Aston out Colin Cliff in - Nick Gaywood out Neal Jackson in - just 4 players left who were part of the 2024 Chennai World Cup squad - Edward Gordon Lennox, Mel Hussain, Phil Deakin and Simon Routh

A very warm week but most O60s and O70s matches survived the heat - we round them up

On the management front O60s / O70s Chair Dave Murphy has announced he is stepping down when his two year term as Chair ends in December. Interim Vice-Chair Len Attard is co-ordinating the recruitment of a new Chair. Interested parties should drop Len an email via len@electricmango.co.uk

And we ask this question - who has played O50s+ cricket for the longest time who is still playing regularly today. Our current leader is Cornwall O70s player Mike Conbeer who first played for the Cornwall O50s team in 1994

And did we have some records this week - was Andy Kemp's 74 out of Shropshire's 106/6 in O70s Div 1 at 70% a record percentage of runs in a completed innings by an individual in O60s / O7Os cricket?

And in the O70s Div 1 match which finished Surrey 290/0 and Bucks 130/2 the lowest number of wickets to fall in an O60s / O70s match?

Let us know via : podcast@trevorjlee.com

Did we have two records last week when Norfolk O70s batter Geoff Roper scored 206 not out and added 327 for the first wicket with Randolph Lofthouse?

  • Finally a full programme of O60s and O70s county championship cricket!
    Jul 3 2026

Grant's back to cover the matches - very good timing as we finally had virtually a full programme of O60s and O70s county championship cricket. Some matches went to the wire - we cover them all including a match where 2 players scored 99 in the same innings.

This week's packed episode also includes cameo appearances from Somerset's Andy Sapey and Kent's Gary Joyce.

We also mention helmets, or the lack of them amongst batters, after a player top edged and suffered a significant cut across the bridge of his nose.
