    Statistics show that thousands of people lose their lives each year due to pothole-related accidents. After coming across similar reports, Bengaluru-based engineer Saurabh Kumar chose to act rather than just complain. He left his job to tackle the issue head-on and has since helped make roads safer by filling thousands of potholes, reducing the risk of accidents. But his vision went further as he started developing roads that are not only safer, but also sustainable, cost-effective and environmentally friendly. - आंकड़े बताते हैं कि सड़क पर बने गड्ढों (पोटहोल्स) के कारण हर साल हजारों लोग अपनी जान गंवा देते हैं। बेंगलुरु के इंजीनियर सौरभ कुमार ने भी ऐसी ही कुछ रिपोर्ट्स पढ़ीं, लेकिन उन्होंने सिर्फ शिकायत करने के बजाय समाधान खोजने का फैसला किया। उन्होंने अपनी अच्छी-खासी नौकरी छोड़कर इस समस्या पर काम शुरू किया और अब तक हजारों गड्ढों को भरकर सड़कों को सुरक्षित बनाने में योगदान दिया है, ताकि हादसों को रोका जा सके। उनकी सोच यहीं नहीं रुकी, उन्होंने टिकाऊ, किफायती और पर्यावरण के अनुकूल सड़कें बनाने का लक्ष्य रखा।
