  • Metro 2033 (2010) Review - Silent Evil Podcast 30
    May 4 2026

Spencer and Cameron are going back to the Xbox 360 era of glorious story driven FPS games, this time with Metro 2033. The post nuclear fallout game of the Russian underground. Filled with all sorts of mutated and demonic looking monsters, the warring factions down below and humanities chance for survival. The story is based on Dmitry Glukhovsky's Metro Novels. One of the few other than Parasite Eve that I can think of that is based on a book.

The game has a lot of remnants of other games of the era, including Resistance, Fallout, Half Life, Gears of War, and so many more. Yet keeps up the action carnage with tense horror moments, survival story driven notes, and some limited ammo resources. A cool world to explore and divulge, for the first time or the third.

So, come join us for the run through retrospective discussion, as we deep dive into the lore, gameplay mechanics, and give a retro review on our modern experience. Let us know your thoughts on the game, survival horror titles, and what we should play next.

  • Mortal Kombat (2021) Revisited - Old Man Orange Podcast 720
    Apr 28 2026

Spencer and Dave are giving the second viewing review to that 2021 Mortal Kombat. We watched it when it first came out and had that very middle of the road feeling about the experience. It definitely wasn't the 90s MK film or even Annihilation for that matter.

But how do we feel about this take once we accept some of the goofs? Like the avatar character of Cole Young who could be just any real character pulled from the MK roster. Or some of the other character traits and looks that were switched up or muted down a bit? Even with the story locations feeling not too martial arts fantasy like?

Well, join us on the Revisit review as we dive back into this film and come out with a different outcome than before. Better or worse, we both agree that MK 2 is shaping up to be a redeeming resurgence back to form. And if anything, let's hope for the best.

  • Mortal Kombat Annihilation (1997) Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 719
    Apr 20 2026

Spencer and Dave are continuing their Mortal Kombat movie conquest, this time with the original sequel, Annihilation from 1997. This is one of those films that you probably either love or despise, but even with all its goofs and low budget TV movie feel (even though it's ironically 10 million more than the first film), it still has a certain fun charm to the watching experience.

It gets a lot of characters thrown in and maybe too many for its own good, cause almost no one has much backstory beyond just their fight scene. But still, it is pretty darn cool to see so many and for the most part, they look like their video game characters. Unlike so many movies from the 2000s that try to stray from the classic look of Comic book and video game characters.

Is the movie up to par with the original or even the WB animated movies? No, not at all. But is it still a fun watch with a faced paced flow and tons of fight scenes. Definitely. It's in that category of being so bad it's good. And if you look at the turmoil this movie had to go through and the hard deadline rush, you can kind of understand why it turned out like a Power Rangers TV movie.

  • Mortal Kombat (1995) Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 718
    Apr 13 2026

Spencer and Dave are reliving one of the most 90s classics around with the original 1995, live action Mortal Kombat movie on a Vintage Cinema Review Podcast. Being in the original runs of video game adaptation flicks, this film truly knocks it out of the park, especially for the time and how it needed to be put together. You can definitely nitpick some things in the picture, but the overall experience is just pure fun and entertaining, while still capturing the lore, characters, and storyline of Mortal Kombat 1 with an extra dash of 2 thrown in for good measure.

  • Falling Down (1993) Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 717
    Apr 10 2026

Spencer and Dave are going back with a Vintage Cinema Review of the 1993 classic comedy and average man vigilante film, Falling Down. From Director Joel Schumacher. All about a man out of time, in an America that has lost its core values and how he has finally had his breaking point and is not going to take it anymore!

Falling Down follows William “D‑Fens” Foster, an unemployed and increasingly unstable man who abandons his car in a Los Angeles traffic jam and attempts to walk across the city to see his daughter on her birthday. As he encounters everyday frustrations—bureaucracy, economic inequality, crime, and social tensions—his reactions escalate from irritation to violence, turning his journey into a dark, satirical portrait of a man who believes the world has wronged him. Meanwhile, a retiring police sergeant (Robert Duvall) begins to piece together Foster’s path, closing in as the day spirals toward an inevitable confrontation.

  • You Will Die Here Tonight - Review - Silent Evil Podcast 28
    Apr 8 2026

Spencer and Cameron are diving in to discuss the indie survival horror game from 2023; You Will Die Here Tonight. It takes that graphic isometric overhead look of the Diablo, with a knockoff but good Resident Evil 1 story and setting and then combines in a House of the Dead like shooting segment with every encounter.

So much variety in one gaming experience. And even though it is kind of a rip off to the core of RE, it still has an interesting story, with a trapped in a cloning simulation twist on the Biohazard world. The characters are fun and you will see them die often like it says in the title. But at least they give you lives for that aspect, along with achievements that lessen the impact of failure in life. Which also reminds us of a lot like the French game, Zombi. Filled with some nice puzzles, neat graphics, and the right length story experience that doesn't end up dragging on beyond its welcome. Which has a high chance of being an indie game pitfall and not knowing when to cut and trim your game down for proper pacing.

Overall, it's defiantly a special and unique experience that any fan of the classic horror games will appreciate. Grab this on PC and hopefully sometime soon on consoles.

So, come join us for the run through retrospective discussion, as we deep dive into the lore, gameplay mechanics, and give a retro review on our modern experience. Let us know your thoughts on the game, survival horror titles, and what we should play next.
