  • Ep 41 - Blood in the Valley - The Clydach Murders
    May 6 2026
“In a quiet Welsh village, four lives were taken in a single night — and nothing would ever feel ordinary again.” In June 1999, the village of Clydach awoke to unimaginable horror. Inside a family home, Mandy Power, her two young daughters, and her elderly mother were found brutally murdered. The violence was concentrated, personal, and devastating — leaving a small community reeling and the rest of Wales in shock. As detectives began piecing together the timeline, the case became larger than one house — drawing intense scrutiny, fierce debate, and years of argument over what mattered most: the evidence, the narrative, and what a jury could be asked to accept. This week, the Archive examines one of Wales’s most significant modern cases — tracing the night itself, the investigation that followed, and the questions that never fully stop circulating around it. Some crimes fracture a community. The Archive remembers the fault lines — and what was built across them. • Ep 40 - The Secret in Derryraghan - The Murder of Gerry McGinley
    Apr 29 2026
“Near the border, a man vanished — and the story left behind began to shift.” In August 2000, Gerry McGinley disappeared from his home. At first, there was an explanation: he had left suddenly, afraid that someone was trying to set him up. But Gerry’s absence did not settle into an ordinary missing person case. The longer he remained gone, the more questions gathered around the life he had left behind — a strained marriage, private loyalties, old suspicions, and people whose accounts did not sit esily together. As police began to follow the threads, the case moved between Northern Ireland and the Republic, drawing in family, business connections, and a story that became harder to believe the closer it was examined. This week, the Archive examines the disappearance and murder of Gerry McGinley — a case shaped by secrecy, suspicion, and the uneasy spaces between what was said, what was hidden, and what could finally be proved. Some people disappear into distance. Others are made to disappear by those closest to them. • Ep 39 - The Meon Hill Murder of Charles Walton (w/ Fauna Blakewell)
    Apr 22 2026

“In a Warwickshire field at the end of winter, an old man was found dead — and the story around him would grow darker with every retelling.”

On 14 February 1945, 74-year-old farm labourer Charles Walton was discovered on Meon Hill, near the village of Lower Quinton. The violence was shocking for its setting: rural, familiar, close-knit.

Wartime Britain was nearing victory abroad — yet in this quiet corner of England, a murder unfolded that would outlive generations. The case drew national attention, and among those brought in was famed detective Chief Inspector Robert Fabian.

In the years that followed, rumours of witchcraft, ritual, and ancient grudges began to attach themselves to the case, sometimes obscuring the simpler question at its heart: who killed Charles Walton, and why?

This week, joined by researcher, writer and pagan wise woman Fauna Blakewell, the Archive returns to Meon Hill — separating folklore from fact, tracing the enquiry, and examining how mystery grows where certainty never arrives.

Some cases gather stories as the years pass. The Archive goes back to where it began.

  • Ep 38 - Limbs in the Loch - The Barry Wallace Murder
    Apr 15 2026
“In the still waters of Loch Lomond, something surfaced that no one was meant to find.” In December 1999, a passer-by walking near the loch made a discovery that would unsettle Scotland. Human remains — severed limbs — had been left in the water, concealed but not gone. What followed was a painstaking investigation to identify the victim, reconstruct the final hours, and determine who had gone to such lengths to dispose of a body piece by piece. The victim was 18-year-old Barry Wallace, last seen in Glasgow. The case would become defined by recovery sites, forensic reconstruction, and the slow, methodical work of turning fragments into a timeline. This week, the Archive traces a story of concealment — where water carried evidence to the surface, and where the truth refused to stay submerged. Even in deep water, the truth has a way of rising. • Ep 37 - The Sirhowy Arms Murder of Cerys Yemm
    Apr 8 2026
“In the early hours of a November morning, a call to police led to a scene that would dominate headlines by dawn.” In November 2014, police were called to the Sirhowy Arms Hotel in the village of Argoed after reports of a violent disturbance inside one of the rooms. What officers encountered when they entered the building was shocking — a scene of extreme violence and a young woman already beyond help. Within hours, the story spread across the country. A nickname took hold in the press. Speculation travelled faster than confirmed fact. But behind the headlines was a short, chaotic sequence of events — involving drug use, mental health struggles, a violent attack, and the suspect collapsing shortly after police restrained him. This week, the Archive steps carefully through that night — separating verified evidence from sensational framing, and examining how quickly a narrative can overtake understanding. Some headlines arrive louder than the facts beneath them. • Ep 36 - The Angel of Bristol - The Murder of Becky Watts
    Apr 1 2026
“In a quiet Bristol suburb, a fourteen-year-old girl vanished from her own home.” In February 2015, Becky Watts was reported missing after she failed to turn up at school. Her bedroom door stood open. Her phone was gone. There were no obvious signs of forced entry. At first, it was treated as a missing-person case. Posters went up. Appeals were broadcast. Volunteers searched nearby parks and streets. But within days, investigators began to suspect something far more deliberate — something that had not come from outside the house at all. What followed was a case that unsettled the country: one built on planning, deception, and a betrayal that felt almost impossible to comprehend. This week, the Archive traces the timeline — from disappearance to discovery — and examines how a family home became the centre of one of the most disturbing crimes in modern British memory. • Ep 35 - A Killing in Queen’s Park - The Murder of Moira Jones
    Mar 25 2026

“In the fading light beside Queen’s Park, a short walk home slipped quietly out of sight.” On 28 May 2008, Moira Jones left her boyfriend’s flat in Glasgow’s southside and began the familiar walk along Queen’s Drive. The route was ordinary. The park beside it was well known. It was late, but not unusually so. Before midnight, she was seen walking near the edge of the park. By morning, police cordons stretched between trees and hedgerows. A major investigation began almost immediately — one that would move quickly, draw intense public attention, and stretch beyond Scotland’s borders. The case that followed would test timelines, trace movements, and force investigators to reconstruct a night that had slipped out of sight in a place people crossed every day. This week, the Archive walks the perimeter of Queen’s Park — examining the night itself, and the enquiry that followed.

Some routes feel routine — until they aren’t.

  • Ep 34 - The Soham Murders - Ian Huntley
    Mar 18 2026
“They left the house for a short walk — and a quiet town began searching for two girls who never came home.” In the Cambridgeshire market town of Soham, the evening of the 4th of August 2002 began like countless summer nights before it. Two ten-year-old best friends stepped out of a house for what should have been a short walk through familiar streets. Within hours, families and neighbours were searching the town. Within days, the entire country knew their names. As investigators retraced the girls’ final movements, a picture slowly emerged — one that would reveal betrayal, expose failures in the systems meant to protect children, and lead to reforms that reshaped safeguarding across Britain. This week, the Archive revisits a case that shocked the nation and forever changed the small town where it began. Some crimes shatter communities. The Archive preserves the moments when trust is broken — and the lessons that follow.
