I'm not a Christian anymore, but I love history and this podcast is absolutely fascinating. It's a study of history through the pages of this one book, the Bible. I had no idea about many of the subjects included here, such as the sheer scale of variation between translations of the Bible, when particular segments were added and who was adding them, problems with translating words that don't actually have a direct translation, or what the most recent translations and interpretations are bringing up. Bring raised Christian no one told me any of this! It's a hugely interesting history of this one book which has made such an impact on the world, told by intelligent, warm and engaging scholars with a sense of humor (where appropriate of course). highly recommended

I like that Bart is able to take the complex area of critical New Testamnt scholarship and make it accessible, enjoyable and understanderble for all, regardless of faith,no faith and anything in between. I have been an evangelical Christian for many years, but with an enquiring mind and Bart seems to be able give answers to most if not all the questions I've been scared to ask in "normal" evangelical circles. Many thanks Bart keep up the brilliant work you do.
