    This is the message to all potential post-secondary bound students. It is all worth it in the end. You may have struggles and roadblocks, but you also have supports available to you. People will help. People care about you. You are worth it.

    Connect with the Indigenous services wherever you decide to go. Get active and be a part of the student life.

    Ohhhh!!! And don't forget about tall the free money you have access to. Copy and paste, do the upfront work and get paid up to 1000 per hr.

    Macho was a student ambassador during his time at Canadore College, and he brought with him a sense of purpose and a wealth of enthusiasm and charism that translated to a great student life atmosphere here at the First Peoples' Centre, Canadore College.

    Originally aired in 2023. This is a revised and edited version of our interview with Tory Fisher from Nipissing First Nation. Tory graduated from the Indigenous Wellness and Addictions Prevention program here at Canadore College. Tory was a great student ambassador for Canadore and the First Peoples' Centre. He went on to Nipissing University where he got his Masters in Education. Tory continues to do well and plays a huge role in Indigenous education and the revitalization of Indigenous culture and language in the region. Now a family man, Tory looks forward to sharing and guiding his kids to be the best they can be and be contributing members of our Indigenous being. Tory has good memories of Canadore and is grateful to the support from many poeple he got while here. His time at Canadore was very productive and he made an impact on where he is today.

  • Re-release Season 1 Episode 1 - Natalie Restoule

    Nathalie Wajashk-Restoule is Anishinaabe kwe. Mother of 2 children. She is a member of Okikendawt Anishinabek (Dokis First Nation) and is from the Eagle Clan. Nathalie is a graduate of the Indigenous Wellness and Addictions Prevention Program at Canadore College, went on to Nipissing University to start her 4-year degree in Psychology.

    Cultural and Anishinaabemwin Language Instructor at Okikendawt Kinoomadii Gamig and works at Female Youth Represenative at Anishinabek Nation Youth and Ms. Regional Canada 2022-2023 at Mrs. Ms. Regional Canada Empowerment Pageant.

    Nathalie is an active learner of the Anishinaabemowin language, participates in land-based learnings, cultural/traditional teachings, ceremonies and community-based research that supports Indigenous revitalization efforts.
    Through her experiences in education and community involvement, she discovered her passion for advocating for Indigenous health and wellbeing, connection to culture/identity, and natural law. She has built many strong relationships with elders, knowledge keepers, historians, medicine keepers, language speakers, leadership and youth. Nathalie gained many skills in both, Western and Indigenous circles which allowed her to respectfully integrate holistic strategies and recommendations at an individual, family, community and professional level.
